Masters of Public Health

The Griffin Combined IM/PM program sponsors a 45-credit MPH degree at the Yale University School of Epidemiology and Public Health. Residents receive in-depth training in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Health, and Health Policy by world-renowned experts. Program Divisions include Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases (with a subdivision of Behavioral and Social Sciences), Microbial Diseases, Health Policy and Administration (with a subdivision of Health Management), and Global Health. Apart from offering Ivy-League quality training in these areas, the collaboration with the Yale School of Public Health also offers networking opportunities with current and future leaders in all areas of public health.

The 45-credits are usually completed during two semesters during the fall of the PGY-2 and spring of the PGY-3. Basic courses include Introduction to Statistical Thinking I, Principles of Epidemiology I, Health Policy and Social and Behavioral Influences on Health. Many of the projects residents develop during their residency can be used for coursework requirements. The combination of the residency with an MPH provides residents with a multidisciplined approach to health and medicine, broadening and deepening the learning process and experience.
