Research & Projects
As part of the unique design of the Griffin Residency programs, residents are encouraged to complete rotations and participate in research projects that focus on community based health, public health, preventive medicine, and health as a human rights issue. Projects are completed in the Lower Naugatuck Valley, Griffin Hospital's primary service area, as well as at the state, national, and international level. IM/PM residents are encouraged to work with many of the organizations that provide rotation opportunities to the program, such as the Connecticut State Department of Public Health, and also have the option of developing their own projects. Most residents are involved in developing projects from their first year of training.
