Community Health/Underserved Health
The Valley Project Access Program was created in 2003 to form a sustainable, integrated health care system, providing universal access to the full continuum of health care for all uninsured, medically underserved Valley residents with incomes up to 200% of the federal poverty level by coordinating the charity care provided in the Valley. The main components are:
- Free specialty care for Project Access patients through a network of physicians.
- Necessary inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and ancillary procedures.
- Facilitation of continuity of care by reminding Project Access patients of their scheduled appointments (reducing absenteeism); and helping them arrange transportation to their appointments.
The Prescription Assistance Program assists clients to apply for free or discounted medications through online, drug manufacturer assistance programs.
